It is a matter of immense pride for the nation that the Quaid-i-Azam University, which is the leading higher education institution of Pakistan, has entered it’s 50th Year. When the University was established in 1967, Islamabad itself was at the early stages of its development. Today, Islamabad is a vibrant metropolis that is distinguished as a major player on the regional stage in terms of its cultural and scientific output and QAU exemplifies the struggle and achievement against insuperable odds.

It is fitting that the heartfelt appreciation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan be expressed to QAU, its multi-generational alumni, award-winning faculty, brilliant students, and hard-working administrative staff. As Chancellor of the University, I also feel that this anniversary year of QAU is the perfect opportunity to raise the profile of the institution and ensure that the needs of future generations are met through timely investments in the material and human resources of QAU.

Congratulations to all Quaidians and to the cause of higher education in Pakistan on the commencement of the Golden Jubilee Year of QAU.
