I congratulate Quaid-i-Azam university, Islamabad for entering into fiftieth year of its formation. Being top-ranked university of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam university has stood to its cause. The university has produced generations of excellent scientists, civil servants, business men, academicians and journalists.

Universities in this age are not only judged by their ability to transfer knowledge but also their ability to create new knowledge. This is measured by high quality research output, honors and awards won by the faculty, citations of the work produced, international grants won by the university, patents that are commercialized based on the work carried out. These yardsticks determine the academic stature of the university. The success and achievements of QAU on every measure is testimony to the hard work of talented faculty, students and an apt administration. They are meeting the needs of our nation and at the same time presenting Pakistan as a responsible and emerging country in the World map.

The goal of Higher Education Commission is to bring quality in higher educational institutions in the country and to produce students who are at par with the students of the world. With this goal in mind the Commission shall extend full support to Quaid-i-Azam university in its steps aiming to bring greater respect to the country. I pray for the success of the university in future, and expect that the university will continue to work with same sincerity and dedication.
